Current Status: The Library is Open.

Now open for browsing, computer use, and curbside pickup with limited capacity.

We will also be following the CDC’s recommended guidelines to keep our employees and patrons safe. We are experiencing a backlog, and we are doing our best to accommodate each one of our patrons.

Masks or facial coverings are required. We ask that you wash/sanitize your hands before coming to the library, maintain social distancing of 6ft indoors, and — most importantly — stay at home if you are feeling sick.

What is My First Library Card?

Our My First Library Card is an early literacy program to help your child build reading and language skills. Reading early will prepare children for kindergarten, so they enter school with a love of books and ready to learn.

Who Can Get a Card & What Privileges Does it Grant?

  • All children, birth through the age of 4, who reside in the Parkland School District are eligible. The child's parent/caregiver must also have an active, valid Lehigh Carbon Library Cooperative (LCLC) library card.
  • Cardholders are allowed to borrow up to 20 books from our Juvenile print collection at a time. Items are checked out for three weeks and do not incur any overdue fees.
  • My First Library Card is only accepted at the Parkland Community Library.

How Do I Sign-Up My Child?

Parents must be a Parkland Community Library cardholder. Get your card here. Our circulation department will automatically send out a My First Library card if child is under five.

How Can I Find Out More?
