We have been notified that one of our employees has been exposed to the novel coronavirus, also known as COVID-19. As such, employees working at Parkland Community Library may have been exposed to this virus. 

Returns- Please hold your returns until we reopen, or they can be returned to another LCLC library. Fines will not be issued during this COVID-19 closure. 

Holds- Can be picked up when we reopen. Notifications will not be resent. Items will be held for 4 business days after we reopen.

P/T Tech Center Assistant 

The Parkland Community Library is currently accepting applications for a part-time Tech Center Assistant. We are looking for an enthusiastic, patron-focused new member of our team who is aligned with our service values and core beliefs, a commitment to excellence, including cultivating and preserving a culture of inclusion with a diverse team of employees.

Pay: $9.75 per hour. Job Type: Part-time. 29 hours per week.
The hours are: Mon thru Fri 9 AM - 2: 30 PM, and every other Sat. 9 AM-12 PM (3 hrs).


An understanding of computers and an eagerness to learn new things is expected. Public library experience is preferred but not required.

Tech Center Assistant Responsibilities Include:

    • • Overall monitoring of public computer use in the Tech Center and being willing to enforce posted policies when needed.
    • • Assisting patrons with the use of the internet and basic online functions (creating email addresses, retrieving lost passwords, signing up for library programming, etc.).
    • • Using EnvisionWare software to complete Tech Center functions (releasing print jobs, extending computer use time, printing guest passes, etc.).
    • • Helping patrons make copies and scan documents to USB thumb drives.
    • • Troubleshooting issues on a patron’s personal device.
    • • Additional tasks as assigned.     

Satisfactory completion of criminal history, child abuse screening, and FBI fingerprinting prior to employment and every three years thereafter are required.
