We have been notified that one of our employees has been exposed to the novel coronavirus, also known as COVID-19. As such, employees working at Parkland Community Library may have been exposed to this virus. 

Returns- Please hold your returns until we reopen, or they can be returned to another LCLC library. Fines will not be issued during this COVID-19 closure. 

Holds- Can be picked up when we reopen. Notifications will not be resent. Items will be held for 4 business days after we reopen.

To donate, fill out a form with your contact information provided from Circulation to recieve your thank you letter, and choose where you would like your donation to be applied. We accept cash, check, or credit card.

Book Dedications

Make a memory that lasts a lifetime and supports your library.

Honor that special person in your life or celebrate a special event by participating in our Book Dedication Program. Your monetary gift will help purchase a book for the library’s collection.  For every material we purchase with your donation, we will place a book plate inside of the book honoring the name of your special person or event.

In Kind Donations

How can you donate to the library? It's a popular question. The answer depends on what you want to donate. We cannot guarantee that materials will be added to our collection. Items not added to our collection may be sold at the Friends of the Library Used Book Sales.

Book Donation Dropoffs

Will only be accepted by The Friends of the Library in conjunction with their book sales. Check the Friends page for drop-off dates and locations.

What We Accept

Accepting donations of new, gently used or rare books: hardcover and paperback books, games, video games, puzzles, CDs, and DVDs.

What We Cannot Accept

Broken or damaged items will not be accepted. Please, no magazines, Reader's Digests, encyclopedias, textbooks, law books, or formats we don't circulate like cassette tapes, VHS, and records.

Materials for the History Collections

Are You a Local Author?

Donated books are subject to the same selection criteria as books the library purchases for the collection. Materials that are not selected will be sent to the Friends of the Parkland Community Library for use in its semiannual book sales.
