The Friends of the Library 2021 Save Around/Enjoy the City Books fundraiser is back! Books are on sale at the PCL Circulation Desk. Suiteside pickup is available. Call the library at (610) 398-1361 for more information, or email Lorna at wwww@ptd.net for other arrangements. Included in these books are the same great coupons for restaurants, entertainment venues, and retail services.
Cost: $25. Please bring exact change or a check. 

Meetings

Next Meeting: TBA Thursday, September 3, 2020 at 2 PM at the Covered Bridge Park. 
We will be following social distance guidelines. Masks are required. Please bring a folding chair in case the pavilion is unavailable.

The Friends have been actively monitoring the evolving situation related to the novel coronavirus (COVID-19). We have decided to cancel our Annual Luncheon in light of this situation.

2020 Scholarship in Honor of Alice Madden and Norm Dietrich

On Monday, August 3, at 4 PM, The Friends of PCL hosted the Norm Dietrich and Alice Madden Scholarship Contest winners ceremony at Wehr’s Dam Park in South Whitehall. Each winner received a $500 scholarship from the fundraising group. Congratulations to Ga Young Lee, Imran Ali Dharamsi, and Daniel Oravetz. Special thanks to scholarship committee members Ila Dietrich, president, Pat Elliott, and Lorna Rabe.

About

An annual scholarship created in memory of Alice Madden and Norman Dietrich awards $500 prizes to individuals every spring. 

The Friends Scholarship is available to Parkland Community Library's teen volunteers, all 2020 graduates and graduating seniors that are continuing their educational pursuits. The teens must have volunteered with The Friends of the Library or Parkland Community Library. The scholarship is also open to library staff members who are continuing their education. Congratulations to our 2019 winners Jack Blommel, Julia Young, and Aimee Joy G.!
