Returns- Please hold your returns until we reopen, or they can be returned to another LCLC library. Fines will not be issued during this COVID-19 closure. 

Holds- Can be picked up when we reopen. Notifications will not be resent. Items will be held for 4 business days after we reopen.

PCL's Annual Winter Reading Challenge happens January 17-February 27. We encourage you to cozy up with a good book and join us for our Winter Reading Challenge! Track your reading, complete library-related activities, and earn chances to win prizes. Children, teens, and adults are all eligible to sign up. Registration begins on January 10. February 28 will be the last day to log any reading activity and enter prize raffles!

Winter Reading is Virtual!

We invite you to join us on READsquared to keep track of your winter reading, listening, and viewing. This easy to use program will help you log reading hours, listening, and viewing. Track your progress to earn badges and enter prize drawings! 

To get started:

  1. Register you and/or your child on READsquared.

Note: If you created a READsquared account for 2020 SummerQuest you still need to sign in and enroll in the Winter Reading Challenge. Your login information will be the same.

  1. Log reading & activities online or with the companion app.

  2. Earn badges and enter prize drawings.

  3. Don’t forget to check our online calendar of events for our virtual programming.

Teen Winter Reading Challenge

For grades 6-12. Ages 12-19.

Join PCL’s Teen 2021 Winter Reading program! Complete missions and earn badges to be entered into raffles for prizes! Teen must complete 10 hours of reading to be entered in for the grand prize!

What are the prizes?

  • Every other week there will be a drawing for a $15 gift card. The first drawing will be on February 1, then February 15 and 28. 
  • There will be a grand prize drawing for a $25 Amazon gift card. To be entered for the grand prize, teens will need 600 points and a total of 10 reading hours. The more points you earn, the better chance you have to win!

What do I do?

  • Read books, ebooks, or listen to audiobooks or complete missions.
  • Log your time spent reading. Provide us with the title and author of the book.
  • Write book reviews, and join teen virtual library programs to complete your missions.
  • Reach 600 points, a total of 10 reading hours, to be entered in the grand prize drawing!

How do the points work?

  • The more points you earn, the higher your chances will be in our prize drawings. 
  • You'll earn 1 point for every minute you read and log. Every 2 hours, or 120 points, is a raffle entry.
  • You can earn an additional raffle entry by completing a mission. 

I completed the program, now what?

  • Keep reading! Even if you've completed the challenge, you can continue to earn points and raffle tickets to increase your chances of winning prizes.
  • Complete your missions! For each mission completed, you will earn an additional raffle entry.
